New Lapeer Solar Power Project

Planned to be Among the Country's Largest

Natural Awakenings News: New Lapeer Solar Power Project

DTE Energy, in collaboration with the city of Lapeer, will break ground this spring on a new solar power project. With two sites, the project will have the capacity to power 9,000 average size homes with clean, zero emission solar energy.

Located off Interstate 69 between M-24 and Lake Nepessing Road, the larger of the two sites will generate 30 MW. When completed, it will be the third largest of its kind in the country.
The second, smaller project will be developed simultaneously at a site located on Turrill Road between M-24 and Clark Road.

According to Irene Dimitry, DTE Energy's vice president of Business & Development, "The development of the two new Lapeer solar projects reflect DTE Energy's broader commitment to build a more sustainable future through a cleaner, more diversified energy portfolio."
