Whole Foods Market Cofounder to Discuss Nutrition in Birmingham
OOn Wednesday, May 31, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at a Plant Based Nutrition Support Group meeting, John Mackey, cofounder and CEO of Whole Foods Market, will discuss his latest book, The Whole Foods Diet: The Lifesaving Plan for Health and Longevity. Akua Woolbright, Ph.D., senior healthy eating and wellness educator with Whole Foods Market’s Whole Cities Foundation, will also be present.

According to the book, cowritten by Alona Pulde, M.D., and Matthew Lederman, M.D., Woolbright “has spent the past three years taking her message to Detroit’s diverse communities, speaking at churches, street fairs, beauty salons and barbershops, and, more recently, in a new teaching kitchen.”
