Many communities in southeastern Michigan are rich in green spaces, and a new initiative called Grass Roots, Green Space Initiative Rochester Hills is working to maintain that richness in the Rochester Hills community. The cofounders, Angie Olstyn and Pamela Wallace, invite others to join them. They launched a dedicated public Facebook page and group in August to start discussions and share links to resources.

“As we see new developments rising, it is important to deepen the conversation of what we want for our community and green space is a part of that conversation. We look forward to taking you on an ongoing journey of all things green space in our community and beyond,” Olstyn says.

Wallace adds, “With a strong intention and commitment combined with tools like the green space millage funds, we can strike the right balance and strengthen our ability to both preserve and protect green space in our community.”
