Clarkston Feed and Garden Supply Focuses on Organics
Mitch Willis opened Healthy Futures Organic Feed Supply in Clarkston a little over 3 years ago because he couldn't find any quality organic, non-GMO, soy-free feed for his chickens. "That was important to my wife and I since what we feed the chickens goes into us also," he says.
Just like their focus is on organics, they also support businesses close to home. To name a few; their compost, potting soil, fertilizers and soil amendments come from Dairy Doo, located in Sears, MI; Swift Blocker soil blockers are from Howell and Eastern Upper Peninsula Wood Shavings, the only organic animal bedding on the market, are made in Kincheloe.
"We can help with the garden, lawn and trees as well," explains Willis. "For example, we offer a soil test to determine exactly what is needed. It goes through Dairy Doo, who has an agronomist on staff, and identifies a recipe for your situation based on lab test results. And our lawn fertilizer is safe for kids and pets, and can be used around ponds, lakes and rivers."
"We are not your typical feed and garden supply store," he adds. "You can come in and shop, then pull around back and we will load your purchases. Or you can call ahead and we will have your order ready and waiting for you. Delivery is also available."
Healthy Futures Organic Feed and Supply Store is located at 7508 M E Cad Blvd, Clarkston.
