BRAIN HEALTH MAY BE THE KEY TO WARDING OFF ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE AND DEMENTIA

The science tells us it’s never too early but it can be too late: - Edward Shehab and his mother
Edward Shehab and his mother

Edward Shehab is on the front lines of the fight against Alzheimer’s and dementia. He’s the managing partner for Memory Health, a company whose product, also called Memory Health, is a patented all-natural brain enhancer developed following 20 years of scientific research. He was originally running a successful international oil well services company, which he continues to do, but never envisioned himself in the role of battling neurodegenerative diseases.

So, how did he get here?

His mother.

One afternoon in 2018, Shehab had lunch and a pleasant conversation with his mother, who was in the advanced stages of Alzheimer’s disease. However, eventually, Shehab made a devastating realization.

“My mother had no idea who I was,” he said.

That experience motivated him to begin researching Alzheimer’s and the ways to minimize and slow the disease, which affects more than 50 million people worldwide and causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior. Along the way, Shehab learned about Memory Health, a premium nootropic or cognitive enhancer consisting of several nutrients, including three carotenoids ⎯ lutein, zeaxanthin and meso-zeaxanthin ⎯ omega-3 fatty acids and natural vitamin E.

These components can all be found in a healthy diet, Shehab said, but people don’t consume the necessary amounts to make a difference. That’s where the brain health supplement comes in. The product is all natural, GMO-free, gluten free, paraben free and manufactured in the United States.

“Memory Health provides the nutrients that have slowly gone missing over the years in the modern diet,” Shehab said.

Memory Health has been tested in clinical trials on brains in a variety of conditions ⎯ young, old, healthy and those affected by Alzheimer’s disease. The test results, which were published in the scientific Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease showed that all participants involved in the trial exhibited positive results with the use of the supplement. These tests, unlike those of many other brain health products, were not paid for by Memory Health. They were discovered by scientists studying neurodegenerative disease.

Memory Health is shown to reduce the most common signs of aging, including forgetfulness, brain fog, mental strain, headaches and memory loss. It also helps with the mental fog associated with some pregnancies, chemotherapy and menopause, and can help chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) sufferers.

Shehab was so impressed with Memory Health that he bought part of the Birmingham, Michigan-based company and came aboard as managing partner; he and his family–including his two school-aged children– also use the product.

He is committed to getting out the word that the supplement can have positive effects against Alzheimer’s, so that more people can use it and prevent the ravages of the disease. “Memory Health provides proper nutrition to our brains as we go through our lives for a cumulative effect. Why is this important? Because once the disease becomes symptomatic, it is considered incurable and irreversible,” he said. “Prevention is the key. A healthy brain can heal faster.”

Memory HealthMemory Health is the only supplement to receive an official United States patent for the prevention and treatment of neurodegenerative disease in humans; it has also been patented in the UK and in Ireland. Additionally, it has gone through the special process to receive the Supplement Certified seal of approval, demonstrating a commitment to quality and a stable shelf-life indicating the product’s active ingredients do not breakdown as they await use. All this is good news, but Shehab still has his regrets. He is sorry that he wasn’t able to help bring this product to market in time for his mother.

“I hope to help people avoid those incredibly painful moments like I experienced with my mother,” he said. “That is my commitment. As I always say: it’s never too early to take care of your brain but it can be too late before you know it.”
