Vince & Joe’s Gourmet Market brought back Fresh Start Healthy Eating classes in September. Executive chef Angelo Loria and functional medicine nutritionist Miranda Moore-Stepnitz, of Awaken Health Nutrition, will host the classes at the Shelby Township location. Classes will be held the second Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. in the café. Attendees will learn how to choose healthier, shop smarter and therefore eat better.

"I am doing these events with Chef Angelo to give back to the community and share some of my knowledge in a relaxed atmosphere.," explains Moore-Stepnitz. " We will go over 2-3 recipes at each event and Chef Angelo will have the food prepared for everyone to sample. Between Chef Angelo's expertise in the kitchen as a chef and my expertise as a clinical nutritionist, the classes will be not only fun and delicious; they will be educational as well."

Executive Chef Angelo Loria is a 2008 graduate of the Macomb College Culinary Institute. He began working for Vince & Joe’s in 2015 and is responsible for managing the culinary team at the Shelby Vince & Joe’s location. He coordinates internal food events including wine dinners, cooking and healthy eating classes, custom events and in-home dining experience–plus the recipes for all. Marketing director Tracey Moro says,

VinceAndJoesFreshStartLogo“Learning how fresh, wholesome foods from Vince & Joe’s can help you gain energy, operate at peak performance and improve your overall health is what everyone needs to know. This class could help your heart, your liver and your stomach and support your weight journey with knowing what to shop for and why. Since we eat our vitamins we need to realize what foods are best.”

Attendees will be doing taste testing and receive recipes each class. Questions are encouraged. Each class will have a theme. The November class is Thanksgiving Turkey Treats. Class sizes are limited so RSVP early. Moro adds,

“Vince & Joe’s Gourmet Market customers can experience a tradition of excellence and find only the best produce, meats, cheeses, wine, seafood, baked goods and imported and prepared foods each time they visit.”

Classes will be held at the Shelby Township location, 55178 Van Dyke Ave. For more information or to RSVP, call the store at 586-212-1673 or visit VinceAndJoes.com. For more information on Miranda Moore-Stepnitz, visit AwakenHealthNutrition.com/
