Westwind Farm Rings in the Holidays with Pie Tasting Day
Expand Your Taste Horizons at Swartz Creek Event
![]() |
Swartz Creek's Westwind Farm is looking for anyone with a favorite pie recipe to share it, along with the pie, to help others expand their taste horizons for this holiday season. Sweet pies with low or no sugar are especially welcome. Pies need to be registered with Westwind by Wednesday, November 15, to be included in the tasting and voting held on Saturday, November 18, from 1 to 3 p.m.
“You could win a prize when the votes are counted just before 3 p.m. Categories will be for sweet pies and savory pies,” Westwind Farm co-owner Linda Purdy says. “If you don’t bake, you’re welcome to come as an official taster of all pies, sweet or savory. If you do a proper job of tasting these pies, you won’t leave hungry.”
She adds, “In addition to our pastry flour, which makes wonderful pie crust, we’ll have our own Westwind frozen and fresh pies for sale, made from our garden’s veggies and organic fruit. Westwind Farm is a sustainable farm, offering healthy and delicious flours, baking mixes, breads, vegetables, eggs, our own paprika and other healthy foods. There is always something fresh at the farm year-round.”
Admission is $10 but free if you have a registered pie. Westwind Farm is located at 11487 Reid Rd., Swartz Creek. For more information or to register, call Linda Purdy at 810-701-8151 or visit WestwindMilling.com.
